OpenAI's run rate came in $20bn light

NDX −1.39%

OpenAI told investors its annualized revenue was approaching $50bn at the end of September, the FT reported, against the roughly $70bn that had been doing the rounds. That higher figure came from media reports, never from OpenAI, and a source told the FT it likely reflected an attempt to match Anthropic's gross accounting of cloud revenue, where OpenAI reports net. The Nasdaq 100 fell 1.39% and the S&P 0.47%, while the Dow edged up 0.10%.
